Welcome

So, people seem to think I’m this mysterious creature that sits behind a computer all day and only surfaces for swim meets. While that is true to some extent, there’s a whole lot more to me than this website!First of all, I’m not that mysterious. If you have ever had a conversation with me, you know that I’m pretty much an open book. Described by my friends as “extremely friendly”, I’ll talk to just about anyone! I am not shy. I also stick out like a sore thumb whenever I attend meets. Just look for the black girl with the massive telephoto zoom lens on her Canon Rebel XT. My partner in crime is usually Kris from SwimHumor.com, when she’s not broke  .

But recently the list of people I either meet-up with or attend meets with has grown. I actually think I’ve met someone new at every meet I’ve attended, with just a few exceptions. I’m still in touch with some of the people I met at World Championship Trials earlier this year!

It always blows my mind when I meet someone who already knows about SwimStars.org and/or one of the network sites, whether it be a parent, a swimmer, or another fan. It’s very flattering and I’m glad I am able to reach them via the internet. That was one of the goals I set when I started this project last year. Everyone I’ve met so far is so welcoming and friendly; it’s easy to see why my closest friends now come from somewhere in the swim world. So, if you see me around, just say hi! I won’t bite; I promise!

But back to this blog. I’ll mostly use it to give my thoughts on things that are going on in my life, new developments with SwimStars.org, where I’ll be travelling to next, and other relevant topics.

It’s been about 3 weeks since I last travelled (Texas Invitational in Austin, TX) and I really don’t know what to do with myself! Although going outside in 5 degree weather isn’t at the top of my to-do list. I’m glad it’s the holiday season and I’ll once again get to spend it my family. I’d probably be devastated if I had to spend Christmas without them, so I take full advantage of the time we all have together.

Anyway, that’s enough of an intro, don’t you think? If you have questions, you can always email me through the site or try to catch me on AIM!

Happy Holidays, everyone!
