I know it’s been a while since I posted on “Suz’s Box”, but I thought it was time. I’ve had a really hard time over the past few weeks with the 2 recent deaths in my family. Everyone’s kind gestures mean the world to me and they have really helped me get through this time.

I have changed the set-up and blogging script because CuteNews just wasn’t working well for this. I won’t go into detail. It’s just a bunch of “webspeak”. I’m also going to add pictures and write-ups from our legendary “Swim Trips” to the blog.

Getting back to the reason I made this blog…I’ve been in what I like to call a drought, in terms of going to meets. The first 3 months of the year was insane! I was driving or flying somewhere every other week. But now, I’ve been at home for a month with no meet to go to. And it’ll be at least another month before the next one. I have plenty of stuff to keep myself busy, but I miss the meet atmosphere.

Which leads me to the next major “swim trip”: The Erik Namesnik Memorial Grand Prix in Ann Arbor, MI. As is the case with all big meets within driving distance, we are assembling a posse and heading up north. We are also expecting quite a few friends to fly in and join us; not just for the meet, but because we will be celebrating Kris’ 21st birthday that weekend.

If you are planning on going (and I highly suggest you do!) I urge you to book a hotel STAT. They are filling up really fast! We’ve got rooms at a couple of hotels reserved because we are still finalizing our VIP list, but if you need a room or just want to hang with us, drop me a line and we’ll see what you can do! We’ll be having fun the entire time – we’re notorious – so if that sounds like what you’re looking for, let us know! We have some activities in the works as well. Can anyone say “Tailgate Party”?

I’m also working on some new additions for SwimStars.org. I’m nearly finished with the next network site, which is a fansite for Chris DeJong (http://www.chrisdejong.com) after that, there are others who will join the family. I added a poll to the site. I’ve gotten feedback from fans and some are wanting to see some foreign swimmers on SwimStars.org.
