Happy October!
Another month has passed. I can’t believe that it’s October already! If feels like it was just June! I’m ok with it being October, I just wish some of June’s weather would hang around. Oh well!
Anyway, just giving another Swim Stars update. Sometimes it’s easier to chart my progress on the site here, rather than on the main site. And while I know not as many people see my blog, I know there are quite a few regulars (thanks for reading!).
The updates may have seem to have slowed down, but that really is not the case! I’ve been doing a lot of work behind-the-scenes. In the past few days I’ve relaunched both Natalie and Pete’s fan Q&A features. My plan is to eventually redo the remainder of them to this format, except Katie’s. Katie’s is so hands-on, with her choosing to log in and answer questions herself, that it’ll just keep going the way it is!
I also have the beginnings of a new design for the main SwimStars.org website. We will be celebrating the site’s 2nd birthday in a little over a month and I like to unveil a new look around that time. I already have the new logo created. I like it a lot better.
I have not forgotten about the remainder of the Nationals pictures or the new network sites. Matt Grevers’ site is the next to open with Jessica Hardy’s most likely to follow. New network sites will be popping up on SwimStars.org for the remainder of the year. To check out the lineup of who is already part of the network and who is soon to join, visit the “Stars” page.
As for my travels, you all know that I go to as many competitions as I can. While my attendance at University of Michigan meets last year was stellar, don’t expect the same this season. Last year was exception in that it gave me frequent opportunities to see Chris, Davis, and Pete swim multiple events. Now that their collegiate eligibility has expired, the same circumstances no longer hold true. Don’t get me wrong, though. I will still be making trips up to Ann Arbor to see the team swim (See “Club Wolverine Owns Us”). I don’t stop supporting the team just because some of the Swim Stars are no longer competing for them. I’ll also see them when they come down to Columbus to swim against OSU and Northwestern, as well as the 2007 Big Ten Champs which will be hosted by OSU this time around. Not to mention the US Open from Nov. 30 - Dec. 2 at Purdue.
However, I’m not going to lie; I will be a regular at OSU’s home meets. Why? I love their facility and it’s so convenient to leave my house and actually be there in 10 minutes. Also, they’re good guys. I look forward to seeing their program continue to improve! O-H-I-O haha
Well, that’s about enough rambling for me! Feel free to leave comments or write me. That’s the best part of running a website like this. Feedback and interaction from those who visit!
