2006 Santa Clara International
I am writing this post from comfy and humble abode of my dear friend, kiwi. (You all should know her by now)
I would just like to say that it is extremely hot out here. As a matter of fact, there is a heat advisory in effect for the Bay Area. So if you’re planning on attending the International this weekend, dress light, be sure to slather on the sunblock, and keep yourself hydrated!
The men’s 800 free and women’s 1500 free heats and timed finals took place tonight. Kate Ziegler, of the FISH, won the women’s event while Ricardo Monasterio, of Gator Swim Club, won the men’s event this evening.
I’ll try to update with as often as I can here! The meet looks like it’ll be fast and exciting!

Tailgate: same time/place next year?
We’ve been told some great things about our tailgate. It makes us feel like all the work we’ve put in is worth it. We really were trying to add some more excitement to the not only the meet, but also the sport in general. So it makes us feel good that so many people were impressed!
With all the spectators in town for softball (right across the parking lot) it was also nice to show them that people were just as excited about swimming as they were about softball.
I’d like to thank everyone for stopping by! This includes some of the fine swimmers I promote here on SwimStars.org. You guys are awesome and I really appreciate your taking time out of your busy day to join in on our fun — even if you were tricked into coming, haha

Ann Arbor Tailgate

Yup, you read that correctly! We are planning an afternoon of tailgating festivities set to take place during the Eric Namesnik Memorial Grand Prix this weekend. If you are interested in attending or helping out, then fill out the form below and we will get back to you with the details such as date, time, and location ASAP! If we have a general idea of who’s going to come through we can better plan how much food, drinks, etc. we need to have ready. By the way, this is a rain or shine event, so it will not be cancelled! Besides, you never know who might stop by!
EDIT: If you know you’re going to have regular access to a computer and would rather we only contact you that way, please type “email only” when it asks for phone number and check the “other” box. Thanks!
