Ohio State’s McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. This pool is the shizz. I go to meets there simply because I love the facility so much. And unlike most Big Ten pools, they have seating on BOTH sides of the pool; perfect for hosting larger swim meets. I guess that is why the facility will host the 2008 NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships and the 2010 Men’s NCAA Championships. Good thinkin’ OSU! I also have to note the loveliness of the scoreboard (see above photo). You can watch races on it from another angle, plus they give you instant reply on it. The lighting is really bright and non-flourescent which makes for wonderfully vibrant photos. Aside from the outdoor meets I’ve covered, the light in McCorkle is the next best. And I’m not saying all of this because I live just 10 minutes from this fine facility. It really is that great. Perfection. The University ponied up some more $$ to make some improvements on the already awesome pool in the summer of 2007. I believe this included a new coat of paint and other minor things here and there. Gotta keep it in tip-top shape!
